SALOMON INDEX.01

In 2020, Salomon launched the Index.01, the first ever fully recyclable running shoe. To promote it and explain its life cycle as well as the thinking behind its creation, I produced and co-directed a 4 mn documentary with Lumento films.

The aim was to create a film that was dynamic and forward moving to reflect the dynamism of both the product as a running shoe and as a step forward in the eco-friendliness of the company. We also wanted to showcase the craftsmanship and technology that goes into developing such revolutionary products. Co-director and DOP Cedric Corroy used his experience working on luxury goods to craft shots and lightings that truly highlighted the beauty of the industrial processes involved in the story of Index.01.

The shoot took place over the course of 2 days in the Annecy Design Center to capture interviews and illustrations of the prototyping and testing of the shoe, followed by another day of shooting in Paris for all the running images.

I worked closely with Cedric on the editing to find the right balance of narration, movement and emotion that would do this incredible product justice.

The video was widely featured in articles all over the world as the Index.01 was the first of its genre to hit the shelves.
